Former City of Lawrence Controller Keith Johnson Joins CivicPoint Team in Indianapolis
Keith D. Johnson has joined CivicPoint, Frost Brown Todd’s multi-state government affairs subsidiary. Johnson will work alongside CivicPoint Principal Michael Biberstine and Vice President Lindsey Lux, representing client interests in the Indiana General Assembly.
“After working inside the government at the state, municipal and township levels, it’s a privilege to represent our clients at the Statehouse and to influence good public policy,” says Johnson.
Johnson previously served as deputy chief of staff, city controller and spokesperson for the City of Lawrence. He was a senior adviser to the mayor in the areas of communications, finance, economic development, capital projects and zoning matters. He also staffed the Lawrence Redevelopment Commission and worked with the Fort Harrison Reuse Authority on a range of development projects. As a lobbyist, Johnson has assisted the City of Gary with legislation to address vacant properties and has advanced legislation to create more liquor licenses for Indianapolis northern suburbs. He has also worked on initiatives to improve transportation services through income revenue.
Johnson is current chair of the Marion County Election Board. He previously served as manager of the Indiana Licensed Beverage Association, as deputy trustee of Lawrence Township, and as grants manager of The Arc of Indiana. He has served in various positions for the Democratic Party of Indiana, including as vice president of Indiana Young Democrats and a member of the Indiana Democratic State Central Committee.
