WHY CARTE WORKS IN GOVERNMENT RELATIONS
“In today’s complex legal and regulatory environment, government relations work is often a natural outgrowth of the litigation, regulatory, and transactional needs of my clients. Drawing on my public-sector experience, I can offer insight to clients looking to navigate the administrative, regulatory, and legislative processes here in West Virginia. I can also assist clients with government relations opportunities, including procurement needs, administrative and professional licensing proceedings, and legislative challenges.”
CARTE'S RECORD OF SUCCESS
Joining CivicPoint in November 2016, Carte brought a wealth of public service experience to the firm, including serving as counsel to then-Governor Joe Manchin, working alongside Justice Sandra Day O’Connor to improve West Virginia’s judicial system, and briefly representing West Virginia in the United States Senate to fill the vacancy caused by the passing of the Senate’s longest serving member, Robert C. Byrd. Since 2012, Carte has served on the U.S. – China Economic and Security Review Commission, a congressionally-appointed commission that reports annually to Congress on the national security implications of the trade and economic relationship between the United States and China.
