Why Aaron Works in Government Relations
“Exceptional public policy is challenging to achieve. I know how difficult it is to reach a consensus; however, it is not impossible. When a consensus is reached and compromise occurs, that is when the real fun begins. I am a person who will make the real fun happen!”
How Aaron Wins
Aaron’s key to success is simple: excellent leadership and hard work. As a county prosecutor, Aaron was the chief legal advisor responsible for representing all county agencies and protecting the public. Recognizing Aaron’s success, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine recruited Aaron to lead a state-wide effort to curb the prescription drug epidemic plaguing Ohio. Aaron worked with officials at the federal, state and local levels; public interest groups; and Ohio citizens to establish policies that substantially reduced Ohio’s prescription drug epidemic. Again, recognizing Aaron's leadership and hard work, Governor John Kasich and the State Medical Board of Ohio chose Aaron to lead the re-organization efforts of the Board. As executive director, Aaron led the successful re-organization of an entity comprised of 12 board members, a $9 million budget, and 82 employees. Aaron advocated to the Ohio legislature for policies ensuring the State Medical Board’s long term financial sustainability and operational success.
Recently, Aaron has:
-
Collaborated with members of the Ohio legislature to unanimously pass H.B. 93, groundbreaking legislation curbing Ohio’s prescription drug epidemic by regulating pain clinics.
-
Responsible for supervising the investigation and prosecution of the last illegal Pain Clinic in Scioto County, Ohio.
-
Coordinated a federal and state-wide effort in front of both regulatory boards and criminal courts to investigate and prosecute rogue physicians prescribing illegally.
-
Appointed as a Special Assistant United States Attorney (SAUSA) in the Northern and Southern District Courts of Ohio assigned to prosecute complex federal crimes involving healthcare professionals.
-
Led a litigation team that successfully defended a breach of contract suit brought against a hospital resulting in a settlement through federal mediation that saved the hospital hundreds of thousands of dollars.
